Creativity Portal - User Interface Designer

Producer Opportunity at Public Art Resource and Research The Scottish Arts Council is looking for an experienced organisation or individual to produce Public Art Resource and Research (PAR+RS). The Producer will promote public art nationally, undertake research, commission new writing and artwork and develop content for the Public Art Scotland website (www.publicartscotland.com). PAR+RS grew from a range of research and consultation processes, which have fore-grounded: concerns for greater visibility of past and current public art projects; the need for wider forms of participation and critical engagement; the desire for those involved to influence policy and funding development. In the 12 month period up to March 24 2010, the Public Art Scotland website attracted over 15,000 visitors, from 130 countries with 72% of visits from UK, 9% from US and Germany, Canada and Ireland making up most of the remaining visits. The budget / fee available for this contract is £14,250 for 12 months including VAT, if applicable. This fee is for a fixed 12 month contract based on 2 full days (8 hours per day) per week for 52 weeks with an additional 10 days to cover any additional workload. Creativity Portal - User Interface Designer 30 June to 30 August 2010 The Scottish Arts Council invites tender bids from experienced designers to: provide initial design for the interface of the Creativity Portal that will sit within Glow (Scotland’s national education intranet). Provide and assist in the implementation of the code within the national Glow Group that will host the Creativity Portal The Creativity Portal is a partnership project with Learning and Teaching Scotland and will be launched at the Scottish Learning Festival in September 2010. The successful tenderer will be comfortable working in partnership and to strict deadlines. They will have a strong aesthetic flair and will bring creative and visually interesting design solutions to the project. The budget for delivery of the design and code will be in the region of between £15,000 to £25,000 (including VAT and expenses). Payments for the project will be linked to key milestones by invoice, with a final payment linked to the timely and satisfactory completion of the project.
