Street Art
Contemporary, accessible, dynamic, interactive and engaging, Street Art has been called the 'Artform of the Twenty-First Century'. From individual buskers, street parades, city festivals and large-scale organised performances, most of us will have been exposed to some form of Street Art before.

More than just a set theatre piece performed outdoors, Street Art synthesises a variety of performing arts to create unique performances in public places. Performers are in direct contact with the audience and at the mercy of the local environment. Creating many memorable, but unrepeatable moments. |
Branches of Street Art include;
- Walkabout/Strolling - Involves work which grows and develops as performers move through and merge with the public. e.g. Naked tourists
- Static Shows - With or without sets and equipment these performances remain fixed in one spot. Crowds are drawn to them through natural curiosity. e.g. Tightrope walkers
- Site Specific Shows - These are performances in a specific and often unusual space. e.g 'Live' shop window displays

Being highly accessible and usually free to the public, Street Art is capable of reaching diverse audiences spanning generations and cultures. Following trends in other European countries such as France and Germany, Street Arts is growing in popularity here in the UK.
