Award winning Scottish choreographer Colette Sadler presents her latest work THE MAKING OF DOUBT. Co-commissioned by Tramway this work makes it’s UK debut after an International premiere at Springdance 2008 festival in Utrecht, Netherlands.
This highly visual dance performance aims to confuse and confound our perception of reality. THE MAKING OF DOUBT asks what it is that makes us believe in certain phenomena in-spite of our sense of logic telling us that they are fake or untrue. Is our desire for illusion stronger than for the real?
Creative Scotland Award recipient Colette Sadler works both in Scotland and internationally receiving support from key choreographic centres in Scotland, Germany and Belgium. As a dancer, she has worked with many renowned choreographers throughout Europe. In 2002 she initiated her own company ‘STAMMER’ and since then has been making her own choreographic work including the acclaimed solo work dDumY (another myself) which has toured extensively in UK and within Europe. She is also involved in a number of educational projects and is regularly involved with leading discussion surrounding the production and presentation of experimental dance and performance.
In 2006 she worked on a number of projects with Scottish pop idols Belle and Sebastian, this latest performance involving a new musical collaboration with renowned electronica musicians Zoviet*France who have worked extensively with choreographers such as Wayne McGregor/ Random Dance and Saburo Teshigawara.
